How to play European roulette

Roulette is simple: place chips on the outcomes you fancy, spin the wheel, and collect on anything the ball's pocket touches. The skill is in choosing bets and managing your chips, because the odds never change.

The goal

Predict where the ball will land. You can bet on a single number, on a small group of numbers, or on broad properties like colour or odd/even. Winning bets pay out at fixed odds and your stake is returned on top.

The wheel

A European wheel has 37 pockets: 1 to 36 coloured red and black, and a single green zero. Zero belongs to the house — when it hits, every even-money and group bet on the outside loses.

Inside bets

Bets on the number grid. A straight-up is one number (pays 35:1). Sit a chip on a shared edge for a split of two (17:1), a street of three (11:1), a corner of four (8:1) or a six-line of two rows (5:1).

Outside bets

Bets around the grid covering many numbers. Dozens and columns cover twelve numbers and pay 2:1. Red or black, odd or even, and 1–18 or 19–36 each cover eighteen numbers and pay 1:1 — the longest-lasting bets.

Straight-up 35:1 · split 17:1 · street 11:1 · corner 8:1 · six-line 5:1 · column and dozen 2:1 · red/black, odd/even and high/low 1:1. Every winning bet also returns the chips you staked.

Placing and spinning

Pick a chip value, then click a number, an edge or an outside box to stack chips there. Undo removes your last chip and Clear takes everything back. When you are happy, hit Spin — the wheel settles and pays the winners.

Common questions

Can I place several bets on one spin?
Yes. Stack as many chips on as many spots as your balance allows. Each bet is settled independently when the ball lands, so a single spin can win some bets and lose others.
What is the house edge?
On a single-zero wheel it is 2.7% on every bet. The one green zero is why a straight-up pays 35:1 rather than the 36:1 that a truly fair 37-pocket wheel would pay.
Is a spin really random?
Yes. Each spin picks a pocket with an even random draw, independent of every spin before it. The wheel has no memory, so past numbers never make any future number more or less likely.
Does the game save if I leave?
Yes. Your chip balance, statistics and recent numbers are stored in your browser, so they are waiting when you return. Clearing your browsing data resets them.
